Melt in Your Mouth Elegance at The Peabody

The first thing you notice when you enter The Peabody, located on the John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital campus in St. Petersburg, is the striking navy blue colors, wood panels and marble surfaces.

Its aesthetics provide an instant feeling of elegance. When your food arrives and you want to order more, it only furthers the motif.

A collaboration of hospital CEO Jonathan Ellen and the team behind Oxford Exchange, Allison Casper Adams and Blake Casper, the inspiration for the design and feel of the restaurant was inspired by the George Peabody Library at John Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Chef Rachel Bennett, who has worked in kitchens that include Bern’s Steak House, presents a colorful menu of dishes varying from classic favorites, like French toast and egg dishes, to unique offerings, like breakfast flatbread and gouda bacon grits. (The grits melt in diners’ mouths, and bacon adds a delightful flavor and texture.)

The restaurant is open Monday-Saturday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s also open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
