West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction has begun construction on The Pointe on Westshore, a luxury apartment community in Tampa, being developed by Westshore Pointe, a venture between Jupiter-based Index Investment Group and minority local partner Richard Coley. This marks Verdex’s first project beyond Florida’s east coast.

The Pointe on Westshore, at 4950 W. Prescott St., will consist of six, five-story buildings with 444 luxury apartments, including 28 carriage homes, along with a two-story, 11,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring two pools and a fitness center. Total development cost is estimated at just over $100 million.

The project is expected to be completed in February 2021.
