Golf tournament date announced for Tampa startup charity that focuses on providing hearing aids to children in need

Sounding Joy, a startup Tampa Bay area charity with a mission to provide hearing aids to local children whose families can’t afford them, has announced its first fundraiser.

The Sounding Joy Inaugural Golf Tournament will take place on November 12, at 8:30 am, at Tampa’s Westchase Golf Club. The tournament will feature a shotgun start and a hole-in-one grand prize, valued at $25,000. Other activities include notable guest speakers such as Hillsborough County School Board Chairwoman Nadia Combs, raffle sales and lunch.

Tournament sponsors include the Tampa Bay Lightning, Pinnacle Home Care, Nitesh and Erin Sapra, Traci Tucker, Rivero, Gordimer & Company, Tampa Smiles Dr. John L. Redd II, DMD, First Citrus Bank, Marketing Direction, Thompson Marketing Partners and 50 Plus Health.

Sounding Joy is a nonprofit organization, founded by Christy Vogel, to help people with mild to moderate permanent hearing loss who do not qualify for financial assistance or cannot afford hearing aid technology. It partners with audiologists, corporate sponsors and donors to provide professionally fitted and programmed hearing aids to those who cannot otherwise get them so they can reach their full potential. All donations are fully tax-deductible.
