Tampa Bay Business Women Awards 2023: Tracy West

In her role, Tracy West leads the strategic and overall management efforts for this official PGA TOUR professional golf tournament, played at Innisbrook Golf Resort. The event raises over $2 million, annually, for 80 regional charities.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL MOMENT?

Over my career, the tournaments I’ve been involved with and/or managed have generated over $80 million for local charities, in the communities we’ve served. I’m thrilled to be able to have a career that has had this impact to improve the lives of those in need in our communities.

MENTORING IS IMPORTANT, TELL US ABOUT A PREVIOUS MENTORING EXPERIENCE YOU’VE HAD TO HELP ANOTHER FEMALE PROFESSIONAL EXCEL.

As the highest-ranking female in Pro Links Sports, I’ve worked over the last 30 years to mentor each of our female colleagues. Several of them have gone on to become tournament directors/assistant tournament directors, within our organization. We also have the only female operations director on the PGA TOUR. I am proud that over half of our organization are females, in this male-dominated industry.

As the only female tournament director on the PGA TOUR, I am often called upon to provide advice to females graduating in sports marketing and looking to work in professional golf tournament management. I make sure to always take time for those conversations and proactively stay in touch with them.
