► The National Maritime Law Enforcement Academy announced that Port Tampa Bay has become the first port in the country to become accredited through the academy’s Maritime Security Accreditation and Digitization Program.

► Verséa Health, a Tampa-based life science company, announced its expansion to a larger facility, at 401 S. Florida Ave., with plans to add 40 new jobs over the next two to three years. 

►  Next Level Brands named Ally Prince director of events and outside sales for the brand’s three concepts: Forbici Modern Italian, Boulon Brasserie and Union New American. 

Paul Carr, Todd Tolbert and Nicholas Coccodrilli, of Colliers, represented Tampa Eisenhower in the sale of One President’s Plaza, for $14.25 million, to Balogh Family Partnership, represented by Kyle Chaikin of Franklin Street.

► Girl Scouts of West Central Florida named Cami Gibertini as president of the board.

►Tampa General Hospital appointed Wendi Goodson-Celerin as senior vice president and chief nursing officer.  

► Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar celebrated a groundbreaking for its new Tampa flagship location, at 4342 W. Boy Scout Blvd., set to open in Spring 2024. 

Chris Roederer

► Republic Bank & Trust Company, in Tampa, named Katrina Trump as the Pinellas County market manager. 

► Chris Roederer, a consultant for the Tampa General Hospital Foundation, was elected as chair of the board of directors for the Tampa Bay Bowl Association. 

Tampa law firm Shumaker announced that two of its lawyers, Elizabeth R. Brusa and Reinaldo R. Gomez de la Vega, were selected to serve a two-year term in the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s 2023 Fellowship Program. 

► Shumaker lawyer, and former Hillel Academy student Yoni Wasser, was appointed to the Board of Trustees for Hillel Academy, in Tampa.

► Nicholas & Associates, a full-service contractor, construction management and design/build services firm, with offices in Illinois and Wisconsin, opened its first office in Florida, at 109 N. Brush St., in downtown Tampa. 

► The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council named Mitchel Allen as senior vice president of economic development.

The University of South Florida was invited to join the Association of American Universities, a group of the 71 leading research institutions in the United States and Canada.  

Law firm McIntyre Thanasides Bringgold Elliott Grimaldi Guito & Matthews PA signed a lease to take three floors at Casa Carbonell, a 23,880-square-foot office building located at 1228 E. Seventh Ave., in Ybor City.
