Lions Eye Institute partners with Arkansas Regional Recovery Agency for Transplant

Lion’s World Vision Institute, of Tampa, has entered into an exclusive agreement with Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency to process and distribute ocular tissues for transplantation.

This relationship will provide greater access to patients with visual impairment the opportunity to restore their eyesight through the gift of cornea donation, according to a statement.

“The Lions World Vision Institute’s vision is simple – to help others see,” said Jason Woody, president and chief executive officer of LWVI. “We are excited about our new partnership with ARORA and look forward to both organizations’ ability to more readily fulfill our missions.”

Through this new partnership, LWVI will share existing, and future, clinical developments and training that support cornea transplantation. In exchange, ARORA will partner with LWVI to have tissues processed and will provide corneas for transplant.
