A naughty elf and whiskey galore: Joy Bar spreads festive fun in Tampa

Jo-Lynn Brown December 4, 2024

Christmas comes but once a year—unless you’re at Joy Bar, Tampa Bay’s only year-round Christmas-themed bar. This December, Joy Bar is decking its halls with festive fun, from live music to rare whiskey finds and, of course, the mischievous antics of Santa’s naughty elf behind the bar.

Known for its holiday spirit 365 days a year, Joy Bar is stepping it up with brand takeovers and live music, every weekend in December. Visitors can toast the season with special pours from Teremana Tequila, Fireball, Crown Royal and Patron, served alongside holiday-inspired cocktails.

Founded in 2023, Joy Bar is the vision of owner Trey Lawson, who transformed the former VIP Lounge into a holiday wonderland. The family-owned business has been a Tampa staple for 34 years, with Lawson taking over six years ago.

“Joy Bar is all about keeping the Christmas spirit alive, every day of the year,” says Lawson, who also owns five Liquor Depot Tampa locations.

Joy Bar is located at 6905 N Armenia Avenue. Open seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.
