Tampa Theatre Makes the Economic Case for Nonprofit Movie Theaters

One hundred years after opening as a commercial movie palace, Tampa Theatre is finding new ways to make money from its remarkable auditorium. Its nonprofit operators have nearly completed a $24.5 million restoration, with more construction planned and a $22 million endowment proposed to help preserve the building for another century.
