Morgan Automotive Group acquires Ocean Honda in Port Richey

Morgan Automotive Group expands its Tampa Bay footprint with the acquisition of Ocean Honda in Port Richey.

Morgan Automotive Group has acquired Port Richey-based Ocean Honda and will rebrand the store as Honda of Port Richey, the company said.

The deal gives Morgan its ninth Honda dealership and expands its Greater Tampa Bay footprint to 24 locations, according to the company.

“Tampa Bay has always been home for us, and we’re thrilled to keep growing here, especially with a brand as trusted as Honda,” said Brett Morgan, CEO of Morgan Automotive Group, in a prepared statement.

Morgan acquired the dealership from Canton, Michigan-based Victory Automotive Group.

“We appreciate Jeff Cappo and the entire Cappo family, who have made this a seamless transaction,” Morgan said. “They have been great to deal with, and we look forward to carrying the Honda torch onward here in Port Richey.”

Why this acquisition matters in Tampa Bay

The purchase is another signal of steady consolidation in the Florida auto retail market, as large dealership groups continue to buy well-positioned stores in fast-growing corridors of Tampa Bay.

For Morgan, it reinforces a long-running strategy of deepening scale in its home market, with brand density that can support service capacity, inventory movement, and customer retention across multiple rooftops.

Morgan’s footprint in Port Richey and across Florida

The company’s portfolio already includes Ford of Port Richey, which it purchased in 2010.

Morgan Automotive Group said it operates more than 70 dealerships across Florida.

Beyond Honda and Ford, the group’s dealership portfolio includes luxury and performance brands such as Porsche and Lamborghini.

What customers will see next

The dealership will operate as Honda of Port Richey following the rebrand, the company said.

Morgan also said the acquisition aligns with its goal of delivering a convenient, professional car-buying experience in the Tampa Bay Area.
