Schemmel Soda Group joins Douglas Elliman in Sarasota

Jo-Lynn Brown August 27, 2025

The Schemmel Soda Group, a leading luxury real estate team formerly with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, has joined Douglas Elliman’s Sarasota office, at 1350 Main St.

Led by Joel Schemmel and Donna Soda, the team was ranked Premier Sotheby’s No. 1 team, in Sarasota and Manatee counties, since 2019, and the No. 1 small team in Sarasota, by sales volume, according to Real Trends. They also earned a spot among Sotheby’s International Realty’s Top 100 agents and teams worldwide, from 2021 to 2025, according to a statement.

Schemmel, an attorney and former CPA, has specialized in marketing and selling many of Sarasota’s most distinctive properties, since 2008. Soda is known for her experience in the Greater Lakewood Ranch market, negotiating skills and client service.

Along with Schemmel and Soda, the group includes agents Sharon Chiodi and Patti Tebo, marketing director Katie Kurbiel and client service coordinator Preston Lane.
