Nova Southeastern University opened its Tampa Bay regional campus at 3400 Gulf to Bay Blvd., in Clearwater.

► Advanced Training Systems, based in St. Petersburg, opened an additional facility in Vista, California, which will house an enhanced simulator research, development and training facility.

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman was named an “outstanding public official” by the Florida Association of Museums.

► TAO Connect, a St. Petersburg digital health company, extended a partnership with the University of South Carolina to provide a digital platform aimed at making behavioral health therapy more accessible, efficient and effective, to students.

► Arthur Rutenberg Homes, a national franchisor of custom homebuilders, promoted Jim Rosewater to CEO of the Clearwater-based firm.

RCS Pinellas and University of South Florida St. Petersburg opened the campus food pantry at 140 Seventh Avenue S.

► Steve Hayes, president of Visit Pensacola, was hired as president and CEO of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater in Pinellas County.

► KnowBe4, in Clearwater, acquired Twist and Shout Group, which has offices in both the United States and United Kingdom and will operate as “Twist and Shout Communications, a KnowBe4 Company” and “Twist and Shout Media, a KnowBe4 Company” as a result of the deal.

► Cogent Bank plans to open a retail banking center and executive office in Clearwater, and has appointed banking veteran Jackie McIntosh, who has also worked for Valley National Bank and EverBank, as Pinellas County market president.

► Ciminelli Real Estate Corp. and an unnamed joint-venture partner closed on the 30.6-acre Industrial Complex, formerly known as Rubin Center Ulmerton, and renamed it Waterside Business Center.

► NAI Realvest closed on the $825,000 sale of 2.7 acres at County Road 229 and State Road 44, just east of the Interstate 75 interchange in Wildwood in Sumter County, to MPH Hotels, headed by Michael P. Holtz, a hotel developer and operator based in St. Petersburg.

Sarah Guest of Cyberlicious, a digital marketing agency in St. Petersburg, joined the board of directors of Little Light of Mine.

The St. Petersburg Free Clinic has added five new board members, including Lisa L. Brody, Bonnie Hechtkopf, Gary Hess, Judy Mitchell and Erica Smith.

► NIX, a software development firm, opened an office in Feldman Equities’ First Central Tower in downtown St. Petersburg that will be the company’s primary U.S. headquarters.

► Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (Nasdaq: CBRL) acquired Maple Street Biscuit Co. for $36 million in cash in a deal that includes a restaurant at 662 Central Ave. in downtown St. Petersburg.

Girls Inc. of Pinellas honored St. Petersburg College engineering program director Lara Sharp as the 2019 STEM Woman of the Year.

► Slalom, a Seattle-based consulting firm focused on strategy, technology and business transformation, said it will open offices in St. Petersburg and in Tampa as part of an expansion throughout Florida.

► The Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce was a participant in Park & Plug program with Duke Energy and now has a Nova Electric car charger at the back of the Chamber Building located at 6990 Gulf Boulevard, St. Pete Beach.

► Caitlyn E. Parsley has joined Adams and Reese’s Real Estate Team and St. Petersburg office as an associate.

► Jabil (NYSE: JBL), a St. Petersburg-based manufacturing company, is working with Magic Leap, based in South Florida, to create Magic Leap’s lightweight, wearable computer.

Castille at Carillon

Feldman Equities has purchased Castille at Carillon in St. Petersburg for $18.2 million.

A “micromobility” ordinance that includes the regulation of electric scooters and scooter share operators was approved by a 5-2 vote of St. Petersburg City Council and scooters could hit the streets between late winter and early spring of 2020.

► Franklin Street brokered the sale of four apartment communities in St. Petersburg and Clearwater including Gateway Place at 528 88th Av. N., Delmar Terrace at 433 Delmar Terrace S., and  Tropic Aire at 135 8th Ave. N.E., all in St. Petersburg; and Lakeview/Westbridge on South Betty Lane in Clearwater.

Community Tampa Bay’s board of directors appointed Tammy Briant Spratling to serve as executive director.
