One Liners Pasco: Saddlebrook Resort, Slim Chickens and more

► The Saddlebrook Resort in Pasco County will undergo a major redevelopment that will bring a town center to the property along with townhouses, apartments, and retail, office and commercial space. (Rendering above)

► New Port Richey is planning improvements to the main entrance into the city, at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Main Street, which will include an avenue of sabal palms directing the way in under a 20-foot-wide welcome sign. 

► Sean McGarvey was confirmed as the Pasco County Libraries director by the Pasco Board of County Commissioners. 

► The Pasco County Planning Commission has recommended approval of an ordinance that will create airport overlay districts to prevent potential threats to airport operations and air navigation at Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, publicly owned and publicly maintained, Tampa North Aero Park and Pilot Country Airport, publicly used and privately owned, and Hidden Lake Airport, privately used and privately owned. 

► The Pasco Board of County Commissioners confirmed Anthony “Tony” Perez as the new fire chief of Pasco County Fire Rescue. 

► The Pasco County Commission has awarded a contract to Sprinkler Solutions of Florida to replace the irrigation system at the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex, off Collier Parkway, in Land O’ Lakes. 

► The Building Officials Association of Florida selected Esther Oluyemi as its 2023 Building Official of the Year, for her continuous efforts to keep Pasco County a safe place to live, work and play. 

► Slim Chickens, a fast-casual restaurant, opened, at 27244 Wesley Chapel Blvd, Wesley Chapel. 

► The Pasco County Commission approved a rezoning to allow commercial development on 4.99 acres at the northwest corner of State Road 54 and Livingston Road, in Land O’ Lakes.
