One Liners Pasco: HCA Florida, Kiwanis Club and more

The Kiwanis Club of Dade City is celebrating its centennial anniversary as a service organization dedicated to helping children in need in the community.

Amy Drury was honored as the Pasco County Literacy Teacher of the Year, for the 2023-2024 academic year, by the Pasco County School Board.

Sharon Streater and Carlton Ward Jr. will be honored by the League of Women Voters of Hillsborough and Pasco Counties, on February 28, for their contributions to the local community, and to the state of Florida, including Streater’s 34 years of teaching, training, organizing and empowering community members with HOPE, the Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality, and Ward will receive the 2024 Sydney & Thalia Potter Civic Leadership Award.

Pasco County approved a contract for a new cell tower lease at Starkey Ranch District Park with Wireless Edge, at a greater distance and a higher rent than was initially proposed, near Starkey Ranch K-8 School.

The Pasco County Commission has named Ron Oakley as its new board chair and Gary Bradford as the board’s vice chairman.

HCA Florida Bayonet Hospital has added Adam Copher as its new chief nursing officer.
