The Bradenton Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will receive a transfer of $3,600,000 to fund furniture, fixtures and equipment, as well as additional construction costs for the Convention Center – Multipurpose Room project, with an additional $900,000 to be transferred from reserves in the Tourist Development Tax Fund for the Water Taxi Program.

Sarasota City Manager Marlon Brown has announced his retirement, effective October 15. 

Senior Advisor Gail Bowden closed on the sale of Kodra Professional Center, in Downtown Sarasota, a two-story building, at 777 S. Palm Ave., that features views of the Sarasota Bay and has a 56-year history in the community.

The Center Point Medical Center, at 6600 University Parkway, in Lakewood Ranch, was acquired in an off-market deal, for $31.8 million. 

Lakewood Ranch-based Roper Technologies has agreed to acquire Transact Campus, a campus technology company, for a net purchase price of $1.5 billion with a $100 million tax benefit resulting from the transaction.

American Health Plans, a division of American Health Partners, has announced its partnership with Empath Health, based in Lakewood Ranch, to grow American Health Advantage of Florida, an Institutional Special Needs Plan providing Medicare Advantage coverage to the long-term care population in Florida.

Bradenton nonprofit Healthy Teens was awarded a $15,000 grant from Bank of America to support youth health outcomes in the Sarasota/Manatee area.

Tidewell Foundation received a grant of $5,050 from the Eugene H. and Elizabeth Hull Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation to support Tidewell Hospice’s grief services in Manatee County.
