► Second Cycle opened its first charitable donation center drop-off location, in Tampa, at 12898 Race Track Road, with all donation proceeds benefiting Clean International, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean water worldwide. (Pictured above)

►BayCare Health System’s $1.9 billion financing plan received unanimous approval from the Hillsborough County Industrial Development Authority, which includes $126 million to construct and renovate several new buildings at St. Petersburg’s St. Anthony’s Hospital.

► Verdantas, a Tampa-based environmental consulting firm, acquired California-based Cbec Eco Engineering, a firm focused on water-based projects including hydrology, hydraulics, geomorphology, sediment transport, design and field services.

► Shumaker lawyer Sean P. Bevil has been elected Chair of the Hillsborough County Human Relations Board of Directors, where he served as Vice Chair in 2024, and has been a general member of the Board since 2022.

► Michelle A. Turman, chief executive officer of Catalyst Consulting Services, made a leadership gift to the University of South Florida School of Public Affairs to increase capacity for the Nonprofit Leadership Program, which marks her fourth gift to the university since 2017. 

► Coastal Construction was selected as the general contractor for the second tower at Marina Pointe, in Tampa. 

►BWE, a national commercial and multifamily mortgage banking company, secured a $76,800,000 loan to refinance The Mav Channelside, a 324-unit mid-rise apartment complex, in Tampa. 


► Executive Home Care, an in-home care for seniors and disabled persons, opened its newest franchise, Executive Home Care of South East Tampa.

► Tampa-based digital advertising startup Nickelytics has partnered with Sarasota’s NILENT to provide more name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities for college athletes, corporate sponsors and distribution collectives. 

► FlyUSA, a Tampa-based private aviation company, is now offering a new membership program, the Ascend Club, which rewards loyal customers with exclusive benefits, including a 2% cash-back rebate. 

► The University of Tampa’s Sykes College of Business was named an outstanding business school with an on-campus MBA program by the Princeton Review and recognized as one of the 244 best business schools. 

► Andersen, a multidisciplinary professional services firm, opened a Tampa office, at 4950 West Kennedy Blvd, Suite 610.

►The Florida Aquarium relaunched Coral Haze, a pale ale with a mission from Coppertail Brewing, in Tampa, with sales directly going to the Aquarium’s critical coral conservation efforts. 

► The Environmental Graphic Design Studio at Creative Sign Designs has named Amy Gullickson as its new studio lead. 

► Engel & Völkers South Tampa announced that Paris Dunlap joined this boutique-style real estate brokerage located on Dale Mabry Highway, in Tampa. 


► Dr. Robert C. Gallo, considered one of the best biomedical scientists in American history and the most referenced scientist in the world for a decade (1980-1990), joined Tampa General Hospital as founder and director of the Microbial Oncology Program at the TGH Cancer Institute and senior scientific advisor to the executive director.
