Aviation company to provide ground services for Tampa-Bogotá route

EULEN Aviation has secured a contract to provide ground handling services for Avianca Airlines, at Tampa International Airport, as the airline launches a new route to Bogotá, later this month.

Starting March 30, Avianca will operate four weekly flights between Tampa and Bogotá, using Airbus A320 aircraft, expanding its network in the United States and increasing connectivity between Florida and Colombia.

EULEN Aviation, a provider of ground services at airports across the U.S., and the Caribbean, will handle passenger check-in, baggage services, aircraft marshaling and other operational support, under a three-year contract.

The company has already begun training staff to support Avianca’s operations at TPA. EULEN Aviation, which employs 108 workers at the airport, also provides services for Delta Air Lines, Aeromexico, American Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Havana Air and Invicta Charters.

Avianca, Colombia’s largest airline and a Star Alliance member, has been the country’s flag carrier since 1919. The new route adds to its growing U.S. presence, including flights to Miami, Orlando and New York.
