Electric Supply of Tampa rebrands as World Electric Supply following acquisition

World Electric Supply, a Sonepar company, has completed the rebranding of Electric Supply of Tampa, officially bringing the business under the World Electric Supply name.

The rebranding follows Sonepar’s 2023 acquisition of Electric Supply and the alignment of its electrical contractor operations with World Electric Supply. The utility division of ESI was integrated into Irby, Sonepar’s national utility platform.

To mark the transition, World Electric hosted a grand re-opening, in March, at the former ESI Tampa branch, located at 4407 N. Manhattan Avenue. The 83,000-square-foot facility serves industrial, commercial, residential and original equipment manufacturer customers.

“We are truly excited to welcome Electric Supply into our network,” said Tammy Livers, president of World Electric Supply. “This acquisition accelerates our growth strategy, expands our delivery and service capabilities and brings 220 knowledgeable associates to our team, bringing our total to over 600, across Georgia and Florida.”

World Electric Supply now operates more than 20 branch locations across the two states. The company also plans to open a new distribution center in Atlanta, later this year.
