Fifth Third Bank names Florida market president and commercial banking head

Fifth Third Bank has tapped industry veteran Marty McAndrew to lead its commercial banking efforts across the state of Florida; a newly created role to accelerate growth in both the North and South regions.

Based in Orlando, McAndrew will serve as Fifth Third’s Florida market president and head of commercial banking. He’ll oversee middle market banking teams statewide, with a focus on talent development, business expansion and deeper client relationships.

McAndrew joins Fifth Third from BMO, where he served as commercial banking managing director and Florida market executive. Before that, he spent more than two decades at Wells Fargo, holding a variety of leadership roles. He graduated from Florida State University, with degrees in entrepreneurial and small business management and marketing.

The announcement follows other recent leadership shifts within the bank. Scott Daigle was named North Florida region president, taking over from Cary Putrino, who transitioned into a new role as region chairman.

In March, Fifth Third was named No. 1 in retail banking customer satisfaction in Florida by J.D. Power for the second consecutive year.
