Documentary honoring hurricane heroes to premiere at Tampa Theatre

A new short-form documentary spotlighting the unsung heroes who helped Tampa recover from hurricanes Helene and Milton will debut at the Tampa Theatre on Sunday, June 16.

The red carpet premiere runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and will feature remarks from Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, who is also interviewed in the film.

Produced by an Emmy-nominated team that includes the founders of College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving, the film tells the story of first responders, city crews and local businesses, including College HUNKS, who were among the first on the scene, working to remove debris and restore order after the storms.

The documentary includes interviews with Mayor Castor, local business owners and longtime Tampa Bay meteorologist Denis Phillips. It will later air on Tampa Bay Community Network (TBCN), a nonprofit public access station focused on video training and workforce development.
