St. Petersburg College has appointed Dr. Mark McKinney as the new dean of its College of Computer and Information Technology.
McKinney joins SPC from Pasco-Hernando State College, where he served as associate dean for academic affairs and retention services. In that role, he led initiatives that boosted graduation rates and supported academic excellence. His previous position as assistant dean focused on student engagement and enrollment management.
With a background that spans both higher education and military service, McKinney has taught courses in computer information systems, cybersecurity, health care administration and business at institutions including PHSC and Penn State. He is also a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a health care administration officer and human resources non-commissioned officer.
