Chef Seth Temple joins Ash as chef de cuisine

Jo-Lynn Brown August 5, 2025

Proper House Group has named Seth Temple as the new chef de cuisine at Ash, its modern Italian restaurant located in the Water Street Tampa district.

Chon Nguyen: The story of a strategic serial entrepreneur

Temple brings over a decade of experience from top kitchens in Montreal and New Orleans, including leadership roles at Barroco, Le Chat Noir, Couvant and Kenton’s. Known for his rustic style, Temple will bring a “less is more” philosophy to Ash, focusing on seasonal ingredients and bold technique.

“Seth’s passion for simple, seasonal cooking and his dedication to team culture make him the perfect leader for our kitchen,” said Chef Ferrell Alvarez, chef partner at Proper House Group.

Temple says he aims to create a warm, communal dining experience that “feels like you’re at your nonna’s table.”
