Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County names new CEO

Jo-Lynn Brown August 26, 2025

The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County has appointed Alison Fraga as its next chief executive officer. She will officially begin Sept. 29.

Fraga currently serves as chief development officer for the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, one of the largest in the state. In that role, she oversees communications, branding, community engagement, strategic partnerships and development, and has secured more than $2 million in annual grant funding to support early childhood programs and kindergarten readiness initiatives.

She previously worked as chief advancement officer for the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay and serves on multiple nonprofit boards. Fraga holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource development from the University of Florida and an MBA certificate in nonprofit leadership from the University of Tampa.

Fraga succeeds founding CEO Janet Kahn, who retired earlier this year. She is only the second person to lead the organization in its 23-year history.

The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County serves more than 4,000 children and 155 childcare providers annually, overseeing the local early care and education system.
