Nueva Cantina | 1625 Fourth St. S., St. Petersburg & 4918 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa

Nueva Cantina has opened a new location in Tampa. It’s maybe a little off the beaten path for some people, but it’s worth the drive for authentic Mexican food with a contemporary twist and a tasty “spicy margarita.”

The first location opened in St. Petersburg in 2014, replacing El Gallo Grande. Managing partner Louis Spetrini, along with co-owners Erin and Rocco Rinaldi, enlisted Chef Paul Daubert to revamp the menu.

Nueva Cantina Tampa has three full bars, just under 200 indoor and outdoor patio seats and murals crafted by local artists the Vitale brothers, Johnny, Paul, and Joey, who restored some of the vandalized St. Pete murals free of cost earlier this year.
