►Berkadia, a joint venture of Berkshire Hathaway and Jefferies Financial Group, arranged the $50.1 million sale and $37.22 million financing of Estates at Countryside, a 320-unit multifamily asset in Clearwater.

Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a commercial real estate investment services firm, announced the sale of BB&T Bank, a 4,375-square foot net-leased property located in St Petersburg, for $2.43 million.

►Jim Dean was named interim president and CEO of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater.

The Overbrook, a 12-unit apartment property in Largo, sold for $880,000.

►Clearwater’s Bouchard Insurance was acquired by Marsh & McLennan Agency, based in New York, with Bouchard maintaining its existing office locations and continuing operating as Bouchard Insurance.

►Restaurant chain BurgerFi plans to add three franchise locations, all owned and operated by Nick Quarantillo, in the St. Petersburg-Clearwater area.

Capital Tacos will open its second fast-casual restaurant in St. Petersburg across from Tyrone Square Mall at 6802 22nd Ave. N., where Tom & Chee used to be.

►Ultimate Medical Academy was honored as the recipient of the 2019 Large Not-For-Profit Business of the Year Award at the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 97th annual meeting and awards dinner.

►iSocrates, a consulting firm, will relocate its headquarters from Connecticut to St. Petersburg and expects to create 50 new jobs over the next five years.

MagneGas Applied Technology Solutions in Clearwater acquired Tyler Welders Supply in Tyler, Texas, for $2.5 million.

►Behar & Peteranecz Architecture, based in St. Petersburg, added a location in Panama City, expanding its architectural and design services to North Florida.

►Roy Binger, founder of Binger Financial Services, joined the board of directors at Tampa Bay Innovation Center.

Tampa Bay Watch was granted $100,000 from Duke Energy Foundation to support a multilevel habitat restoration program that will be showcased in their Discovery Center at the new St. Petersburg Pier.

► Freedom Bank in St. Petersburg’s has added Craig Sher and Ronald Campbell to its board of directors and hired Valarie Nussbaum-Harris who joined as vice president for small business lending, and Darryl Feldman as vice president for business development and marketing officer, in newly created roles.

►CBIZ MHM of Tampa Bay made several appointments with Jessica Janota and Aimee Varnum being named senior managers in the audit department, and Shay Janssen and Elana Kaufman to senior manager in the tax department. John Maceovsky was named director in the tax department.
