Tampa Bay Business Women Awards 2023: Carolynn Smith-Jones

Carolynn Smith-Jones is a sales, marketing and public relations professional with more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality, health care, sports, entertainment and franchise industries.

She started her career as an on-air radio personality, for NFL Fox Sports, where she covered NFL preseason camps and sideline reporting, interviewing NFL players and coaches.

HOW DO YOU CONTINUE TO EVOLVE AND GROW AS A LEADER?

I invest in ongoing education and professional coaching on a national level. As a public relations agency owner, I spend time flying to New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago, learning from top publicity coaches, meeting with national television producers, magazine editors and freelance writers. I invest financially to learn, and train, with the best in the nation.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PROUDEST PROFESSIONAL MOMENT?

My proudest professional moment was in 2016 when I finally broke through the glass of being a “local” public relations agency to a national public relations agency by landing my Tampa-based clients on national Fox News, the Today Show, the Huffington Post, the Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair and more.
