One Liners Hillsborough: Detroit Wing Co., Big Storm Brewing and more

The city of Tampa will use funds from a $5.35 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to upgrade the Ashley Drive interchange in the city’s downtown district. 

► Big Storm Brewing opened an 11,000-square-foot taproom at 1600 E. Seventh Ave., in Ybor City.

►  Detroit Wing Co. opened its first Florida location, at 5006 E. Fowler St., in Tampa, across from the University of South Florida campus.

PopStroke Entertainment Group will open its sixth PopStroke facility, and fifth in Florida, in Lutz’s Cypress Creek Town Center, at 25297 Sierra Center Blvd.

St. Petersburg-based BayFirst National Bank opened its ninth banking center, located at 16002 N. Dale Mabry, in the Carrollwood area of Tampa.

► Invision Advisors, based in Tampa and led by president Jonathan Moore, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. 

Tampa International Airport officials announced that Alaska Airlines will begin nonstop services to San Diego on Oct. 5 and Frontier Airlines will provide nonstop flights to Puerto Rico’s west coast starting May 4. 

► Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay appointed Chris Letsos as chief executive officer. 

► Plan IT Packaging signed a five-year lease for a 27,450-square-foot warehouse, yet to be constructed, at 4525 Oak Fair Blvd., Tampa.

► Sherman Associates, which acquired the Hotel Zamora in St. Pete Beach in September, has named Kimberly Subject as its executive chef to manage the property’s Castile Restaurant along with the property’s lounge, pool bar and rooftop dining area.

Tampa’s Riverwalk was named the nation’s second-best riverwalk by USA Today’s Reader’s Choice Travel Awards competition.

A 28,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility, located at 1701 E. Second Avenue, is under construction and slated to open in early summer in the Gas Worx mixed-use development, in Ybor City.
