Florida Blue, the state’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan, recently announced the addition of two veteran health care executives to the West Florida team as market leaders.
Market Leader Matt Tierney will oversee Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. He was promoted from local market finance and analytics leader, before assuming this role.
Market Leader Janet Pogar will oversee Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Hardee, Highlands, Glades, DeSoto, Lee, Collier and Hendry counties. She joins Florida Blue with more than 30 years of management experience in health care delivery including developing, and supporting, a large-scale provider network. She most recently served as regional vice president for Carelon Behavioral Health (formerly Beacon Health Options) and led the integration of behavioral health into the company’s network.
Each Market Leader will develop, lead and execute local strategy for Florida Blue that includes sales, products, analytics, hospital and provider networks, care management, as well as local marketing and community relations, according to a statement.
