Tampa Bay Innovation Center launches startup accelerator focused on climate tech and sustainability

The Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an early-stage tech incubator and accelerator, will kick off 2024 with a program catering to early-stage companies building emerging technologies for climate tech and sustainability.

TBIC’s first climate tech program was conducted in early 2023. The inaugural program ended in April, with an Innovation Showcase featuring a keynote from Cathie Wood, founder, chief executive officer and chief information officer of ARK Invest, and presentations by the startup companies that completed the 12-week product-focused workshop.

The next accelerator, and related mentoring programs, will concentrate on climate tech and sustainability products.

Returning corporate partners include ARK Invest, Duke Energy and PODS Moving & Storage, which provides assistance with the company selection process, mentoring, expertise, financial support and other resources for the participating tech ventures.

The accelerator program will begin in late February. Applications for interested startups can be submitted here.
