Visit St. Pete/Clearwater names chief marketing officer

Visit St. Pete/Clearwater has named Steve Grimes as the organization’s chief marketing officer.

In the role, Grimes will lead all advertising, promotions, marketing, market intelligence, digital, communications and social media efforts for the Visit St. Pete/Clearwater organization.

Grimes has more than 20 years of marketing experience. Throughout his career, he has developed integrated marketing campaigns with digital and media strategy, content creation and advertising.

He previously was the NBA’s vice president of interactive and led the transition of all operations of NBA.com, WNBA.com, 57 team websites and 10 international websites.

In addition, Grimes was chief digital officer for The Topps Company, and vice president of global digital media, content and advertising with The IRONMAN Group. He’s a two-time Emmy Award winner, including wins while with Comedy Central for Best Special Programming for “The Daily Show” and Best Interactive Event for “Night of Too Many Stars.”
