Great Places and Spaces: Speer YMCA (PHOTOS)

In a partnership between Pinellas County Schools and the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, the Speer YMCA opened at 495 62nd Avenue Northeast. The 75,000 sq.-ft. facility is adjacent to Mangrove Bay Middle School, with many facilities being shared between the school and the YMCA. 

Highlights at the new YMCA include a full aquatics center which will include an 8-lane, competition-sized, pool, a warm-water instructional pool and a splash pad. The center also has fitness equipment, group exercise studios, a cycling studio, an outdoor wellness terrace and a gymnasium shared with Mangrove Bay Middle School.
