► New College of Florida, in Sarasota, is debuting a version of its liberal arts degree, in Spring 2024, that will feature classes offered through distance learning, supported by live video-conferencing seminars and discussion groups so that it will be accessible to students everywhere. 

► Comcast completed a three-year, $22 million infrastructure upgrade project, in Sarasota County, to bring its Xfinity 10G Network and advanced telecommunications services to industrial parks, retail sites and large residential developments across the county. 

► Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation has named Shana Meadows director of finance and operations. 

► Entrepreneur Randy Nicolau, former president of Playboy and founder of office furniture firm Poppin, listed his waterfront home, at 5151 Jungle Plum Road, Siesta Key, for $19.95 million.

► Colliers | U.S. has arranged the sale of Glengary Shoppes, 4020 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, a 97% occupied, 95,489-square-foot retail shopping center, for $30,500,000.

► Wendy Deming, a nonprofit executive with more than 25 years’ experience in the region, has been named chief executive officer of the Bishop-Parker Foundation, a Bradenton nonprofit that supports health, human services, education, the arts, environment and animal welfare causes. 

► Hot Dog Shoppe, an Ohio-based eatery, is opening a new location in Venice, at 415 U.S. 41 Bypass N., next to the Hotel Venezia. 

► Win Chevrolet Properties bought a 39,000-square-foot office building, at 5413 State Road 64, in Bradenton, for $8.8 million. 

► Salt & Light Holistic Spa, at 2453 Sycamore St., in North Port, is doubling its space and adding a retail component as part of the expansion. 

► Northern Trust Wealth Management named Kirstin Fulkerson, known in the Sarasota area for her work with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, as a wealth strategist in the Sarasota-Charlotte market.

► The Boatyard, a landmark mixed-use waterfront property, on Siesta Key, was sold to Chris Brown, a Sarasota-area entrepreneur, real estate investor and co-founder of the Above the Bar Hospitality Group.

► Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s, a Sarasota nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers, has named Jennifer Bitner as CEO.
