Feeding Tampa Bay’s program awarded top honor at Florida Blue Foundation Sapphire Awards

Feeding Tampa Bay’s FoodRX program received the Florida Blue Foundation Sapphire Awards’ top honor of $100,000 for community health improvement, alongside nine Florida nonprofit programs, organizations and individuals.

Feeding Tampa Bay’s Food Rx program provides food prescriptions to adults with diet-related health conditions in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. The first food pharmacy in the state, Food Rx gives patients a prescription to visit a food pharmacy co-located at the site of their medical appointments.

At the awards, Feeding Tampa Bay highlighted their partnership with Tampa General Hospital’s TampaWell program.

Each program, organization and individual honored with a Sapphire Award was selected following an external review process for leadership, innovative ideas, demonstrated outcomes and excellence.
