Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber names new president and CEO, appoints board chair

Jo-Lynn Brown October 29, 2024

The Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber has appointed Rene Cantu as its new president and chief executive officer. Cantu, a seasoned leader with over 25 years of experience in advocacy and community engagement, plans to enhance the Chamber’s mission of promoting inclusive economic growth and supporting LGBTQ+ professionals and business leaders. He succeeds Justice Gennari.

In addition, Chris Rollins, a certified LGBTBE, has been appointed board chair.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rene Cantu as our new president and CEO,” said Rollins. “Rene’s vision and commitment to our members align perfectly with the Chamber’s mission. Under his leadership, we look forward to continuing to create positive change in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.”

Cantu expressed enthusiasm for his new role: “I am honored to take on this role and build on the incredible work the Chamber has done. Together with the board and our members, I look forward to creating new opportunities for connection and driving the economic vitality of our diverse business community.”
