The University of South Florida has received a $6.5 million estate gift to benefit the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer’s Center & Research Institute.
The donation, from an anonymous benefactor, is the largest in the center’s history and will support research, patient care and caregiver education.
The Byrd Alzheimer’s Center, one of the world’s largest memory care facilities, is nationally recognized for its innovative work.
The unrestricted gift will allow the institute to address key priorities, including recruiting top researchers and expanding programs for patients and caregivers.
