Sarasota luxury handbag maker launches digital authentication technology for customers

BSWANKY has partnered with Proof-it and EM Microelectronic to bring digital authentication and product traceability to its luxury handbags.

Sarasota-based luxury handbag brand BSWANKY has partnered with Proof-it and EM Microelectronic to offer a new way for customers to authenticate and trace the provenance of its products.

The collaboration integrates Proof-it’s digital tags with EM Microelectronic’s Swiss-made semiconductor technology. This allows consumers to scan a tag on their BSWANKY bag with a smartphone, providing detailed information about the bag’s creation, ownership history and value as a luxury item.

BSWANKY, known for its custom, handcrafted handbags, will now offer customers a direct link to the brand’s founder, Gretchen Bauer, through the Proof-it platform. This technology not only authenticates each item but also provides access to the story behind the bag, ensuring its value over time.

EM Microelectronic, part of the Swatch Group, designed the integrated circuits that power the Proof-it tags. Made in Switzerland, the tags are recognized for their eco-friendly and secure features.
