New College of Florida receives $1 million gift for baseball field

New College of Florida’s future baseball field will be named the Beruff Family Field of Dreams, following a $1 million gift from Carlos and Janelle Beruff.

Located at the intersection of U.S. 41 and University Parkway, the field will be a permanent home for the Mighty Banyans baseball team, which currently plays at IMG Academy.

The team, part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Sun Conference, won 20 games in its inaugural season.

Carlos Beruff, founder of Medallion Home, emphasized the importance of education and athletics in building opportunities. “Athletic scholarships create pathways for many to achieve the American dream,” he said.

Architectural designs for the field are in progress, focusing on sustainability and innovation. Construction is expected to begin in 2025.

New College of Florida launched its intercollegiate athletics program in 2023. It currently includes 12 teams.
