Norwalt expands operations in Hillsborough County

New Jersey-based automation machinery manufacturer Norwalt is expanding its presence in Hillsborough County with a new 28,000-square-foot facility, at Crossroads Logistics Park.

The company plans to create 20 additional jobs, over the next three years, including positions for electrical and mechanical engineers, programmers and technicians.

Norwalt first entered the Tampa market in 2022, leasing 10,000 square feet from local beverage company Cirkul. The company has since experienced growth, increasing its staff by 30%, in two years, and opting for a larger space to accommodate its needs, according to a statement.

“Our expansion to Tampa has far exceeded our expectations,” said Mike Seitel, chief executive officer of Norwalt. “The quality of talent we’ve found in Tampa has been incredible and has helped us accelerate our growth plans. Tampa has been an excellent choice for us and we look forward to continuing to grow our company in this market.”

Norwalt designs and builds custom automation machinery for industries such as medical devices, food and beverage, personal care and telecommunications. The company also provides technical support and on-site training for its products.

The Tampa Bay Economic Development Council worked with Norwalt on its expansion, collaborating with TECO to address power needs and helping the company secure a Quick Response Training Grant from the state.
