AmeriLife announces expansion deal

Jo-Lynn Brown January 7, 2025

AmeriLife Group, based in Clearwater, will acquire Crump Life Insurance Services and Hanleigh Management from TIH Insurance Holdings. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025 pending customary approvals, were not disclosed.

Crump, one of the largest providers of life insurance and retirement products in the United States, partners with more than 31,000 financial professionals. Its offerings include life insurance, annuities, long-term care, disability insurance and other specialty products. The acquisition will expand AmeriLife’s Wealth Group, which develops and distributes insurance and retirement planning solutions, into the institutional, independent marketing organization and brokerage general agency segments.

Piper Sandler & Co. and Truist Securities served as financial advisors for Crump and TIH, with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett providing legal counsel. Kirkland & Ellis acted as legal counsel and Paul Weiss served as financing legal counsel to AmeriLife.
