Swing for a Cause: Support veterans through the Stairway for Heroes Golf Tournament

Stairway for Heroes uses the power of golf to provide veterans with not just a sport, but a community, a support system and a fresh start.

Founded by Melvin Azofeifa, a Navy veteran who struggled with his own transition after 14.5 years of service, Stairway for Heroes was born from his personal experience of finding solace and purpose on the golf course. Now, through this initiative, veterans are given access to clubs, lessons and opportunities to play.

The foundation’s annual golf tournament, set for May 16, is a major fundraiser that directly supports these efforts. This year the focus is on securing sponsorships to expand the impact even further.

“This is more than just golf—it’s a network where veterans and civilians come together, share experiences and support each other,” said Azofeifa.
