Amorino Gelato to open in St. Petersburg’s EDGE Collective (PHOTOS)

Amorino Gelato, an international gelato chain, founded in Paris, is set to open a location in St. Petersburg’s EDGE District, at 1246 Central Ave. The shop will occupy more than 1,800 square feet on the ground floor of the newly renovated building, with views of a 7,000-square-foot communal garden. It will join Bosphorus Turkish Cuisine, which also has locations across Central Florida.

The 16,000-square-foot building was originally constructed in 1926, and has been renovated to include modern infrastructure, expanded windows and updated office space. Office suites range from 1,800 square feet to 8,000 square feet, with tenants having access to a communal garden and amenities at the nearby Moxy St. Pete hotel.

Founded in 2002, Amorino Gelato is known for its artisanal gelato, made without preservatives or artificial flavors. The brand offers more than 24 traditional Italian flavors, gelato-filled macarons and other desserts such as crêpes, waffles and sorbets.

The St. Petersburg location will be the first full Amorino boutique in Florida.

The 1246 Central Ave. property is part of the EDGE Collective, a 500,000-square-foot, mixed-use development that includes a 163-room Moxy hotel. A second phase of the project will add about 350 rental units, 45,000 square feet of commercial and retail space and a 360-space parking garage.
