Sprouts Farmers Market opens Largo store this week

Sprouts Farmers Market is preparing to open a new store, at 2156 E. Bay Drive, Largo, this week. Doors are opening to customers at 7 a.m. on March 21.

A weekend of activities will mark the store’s opening, running from Friday through Sunday, March 23. The store will feature a tasting bar with seasonal produce, a “guess the weight” contest for an oversized fruit or vegetable and other family-friendly activities.

The first 200 shoppers, on Friday and Saturday, will receive a free, reusable goodie bag with samples, while the first 400 customers on Friday will receive a free long stem rose from Falcon Farms Floral. Inside, vendors will offer product samples, with giveaways taking place throughout the weekend.

Shoppers can receive 20% off their purchases over the grand opening weekend by texting LARGO to 777-688 and scanning their app account barcode, at checkout. A $500 gift card giveaway will also be available to those who sign up on the store’s webpage, by midnight on March 23.

Sprouts Farmers Market sources produce from Florida farms such as Alderman Farms and Always Fresh Farms. The store will also participate in Sprouts’ Food Rescue program, donating edible, but unsellable, groceries to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, which distributes food to local soup kitchens, shelters and food pantries.
