Wright’s Gourmet House plans to open its first satellite location at Tampa General Hospital’s Davis Islands campus. The deli and bakery, known for its sandwiches and baked goods, has signed a 10-year lease for a 2,900-square-foot space near the East Pavilion entrance, previously occupied by McDonald’s.
The new location will offer a full-service kitchen with a selection of Wright’s menu items available for dine-in, takeout, call-ahead and online orders. A separate to-go pickup window will also be available. A construction timeline for the space is being finalized but, in the meantime, a selection of Wright’s cakes, cupcakes and cookies will be sold at the hospital café in the coming weeks.
Wright’s has been a fixture in Tampa since 1963, when it was founded by Marjorie and Pete Wright. Marjorie Wright previously worked as Tampa General’s director of admissions.
“Her focus was on creating an exceptional patient experience, and she brought that same passion and dedication to Wright’s,” said Rudy Garcia, president of Caspers Company, Wright’s parent company. “We’re excited to share her legacy with Tampa General.”
