BayCare breaks ground on $563 million hospital in Manatee County (RENDERINGS)

Jo-Lynn Brown Published: May 1, 2025 | Updated: May 5, 2025

BayCare broke ground on a $563 million medical campus, in Palmetto, that will include the region’s first nonprofit hospital north of the Manatee River.

The project includes BayCare Hospital Manatee, a 154-bed acute-care hospital and a 45,000-square-foot BayCare Health Hub.

The new hospital will become BayCare’s 17th facility in West Central Florida. The adjacent health hub will provide outpatient and specialty care in a modern, patient-centered environment.

BayCare, a nonprofit health care system, operates 16 hospitals and offers medical services throughout the Tampa Bay area.
