Top luxury real estate teams merge under Smith & Associates banner

Newly formed Gay Glaser Gunning team brings more than $3 billion in sales and 90 years of experience.
Jo-Lynn Brown June 3, 2025

Two Tampa Bay luxury real estate teams have merged under Smith & Associates Real Estate, creating the Gay Glaser Gunning team.

The merger unites the Pond Gunning Team and the Gay & Glaser Group, formerly the top two producing teams at Smith & Associates, into one team with more than 90 years of combined experience and over $3 billion in closed sales, according to a statement.

“This merger is more than a strategic alignment—it’s a unification of expertise, heart and community leadership,” said Bob Glaser, president and chief executive officer of Smith & Associates Real Estate. “These agents are not only at the top of their game professionally, they are embedded in the fabric of Tampa Bay.”

The Gay Glaser Gunning team includes Ed Gunning, Stephen Gay, Katie Glaser Lynn, Yuri Howlett and Meghan Iacofano.

The merger follows the retirement of long-time Smith & Associates top producer Mary Pond, who spent more than four decades as Ed Gunning’s business partner.
