TAG Advisors appoints Carmine LaCognata as director of specialty markets

TAG Advisors has announced the appointment of Carmine J. LaCognata as director of specialty markets, a new leadership role focused on serving the retirement and wealth accumulation needs of high-net-worth individuals.

With decades of experience in the financial services and insurance sectors, LaCognata will lead efforts to deliver innovative, tax-efficient solutions, primarily through specially priced variable universal life policies. These products provide affluent clients with expanded retirement savings options when traditional plans and Roth IRAs fall short.

“Highly successful individuals often earn too much to contribute to Roth IRAs and want to save more than the limits of standard retirement plans allow,” said LaCognata. “This new program gives them access to institutional pricing, flexibility and tax-deferred growth, without the high fees or liquidity limitations typical of many retail insurance products.”

These VUL plans offer managed portfolios and buffered indexed options, coordinated in collaboration with clients’ tax and legal advisors. TAG Protect, the firm’s risk management division, supports the initiative.

The appointment enhances the firm’s broader suite of services, TAG Retire, TAG Invest, and TAG Planning, which are available to its network of over 400 independent financial professionals nationwide.

TAG Advisors is based in Glen Allen, Virginia. LaCognata lives in Clearwater.
