Girls Inc. of Tampa Bay has received a $1 million donation from the Schoen Family to support the organization’s newly created endowment fund.
The endowment is designed to provide long-term financial stability and help expand programming for girls in under-resourced communities throughout the region. Girls Inc. offers educational, leadership and wellness programs to support girls’ development.
“This extraordinary gift from the Schoen Family is not only a profound act of generosity but a resounding vote of confidence in the future of our girls,” said Darla Otey-Murphy, chief executive officer of Girls Inc. of Tampa Bay.
The organization plans to use the endowment to ensure continued access to mentorship and opportunities for future generations.
