Meals on Wheels Tampa CEO to retire at end of 2025

After nearly two decades of leadership, Steve King, chief executive officer of Meals on Wheels of Tampa, has announced plans to retire at the end of 2025.

King has served as executive director for 19 years, helping to expand the organization’s impact on the community. Last year alone, Meals on Wheels of Tampa delivered more than 315,000 meals to seniors and homebound residents.

“It has been my profound honor and privilege to lead MOWT for 19 years,” King said in a statement. “I am proud of the strong agency we have built, which is well prepared to serve the next generation of seniors.”

The nonprofit’s Board of Directors, under the leadership of board president Ed Bass, has launched a national search for King’s successor. Katherine Young, president and CEO of Young Search Partners – Executive Search, has been retained to lead the effort.

King plans to support the organization and its incoming leader throughout the transition. Additional updates will be shared as the search progresses.
