Nominations open for 2026 Women of Distinction Awards

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Women of Distinction Awards, with the annual luncheon scheduled for March 4, at Armature Works.

Now in its 34th year, the event honors six local women who exemplify courage, confidence and character in their professional and community leadership. Nominations are open for two categories: the Woman of Distinction Award and the Woman of Promise Award, which honors an exceptional woman under 40.

This year’s honorary chairs are Dr. Moira Burke, Veronica Cintron and Dr. Tonjua Williams — all past honorees and distinguished leaders in medicine, communications and higher education, respectively.

The luncheon typically draws more than 600 business and civic leaders, with proceeds supporting Girl Scouts programs across an eight-county region.

Nominations are being accepted online at www.gswcf.org/WoD.
