Two Tampa Bay family-owned business services companies announce merger

WCC Business Solutions, a Clearwater-based office equipment and services company, has acquired Modular Business Technologies, based in Tampa.

The company will be doing business as WCC Business Solutions with both Gordy Link, president and chief executive officer of WCC, and Joey Ferrante, president of Modular, remaining in their respective positions, at the newly merged entity.

Both companies sell, and service, office equipment and offer technology services.

WCC and Modular are both family-owned, and operated, and have a combined 80 years in the business.

“We decided if we were to align forces, we’d have a much larger impact and bring more value to the Tampa Bay business community,” says Link. “I think one of the biggest assets was our relationship. Bringing Joey on board, with his skill set and relationships in the community, combined with ours at WCC, presents an ability to deliver better services to our customers and to scale the business, together. It was a perfect match.”

Link and Ferrante have known each other, and worked in the same space, for 15 years.

“After a few short conversations, it was clear that our principles, and our values, aligned with customers first,” says Ferrante. “When the conversation about joining forces came up, it was a no-brainer.”
