Sarasota architecture and design firm Clifford M. Scholz Architects has named two new partners — Rick Oswald and Daniel Shaffer.

►Walters Financial Services has purchased a 4,400-square-foot office condominium from Sarasota 100 Limited Partnership for $845,000, located at 3277 Fruitville Road, units 1 and 2, in Sarasota.

The Sarasota County Bar Association named real estate attorney Nancy Cason president.

►Furniture Warehouse purchased the former showroom and warehouse for Kalin’s furniture store in Sarasota for $6 million.

►Kim Ghiselin, an associate professor of math at State College of Florida, will serve on Florida’s Mathematics Redesign Workgroup, which is focused on evaluating and improving the mathematics sequences for the Florida College System.

Apartment owner Insula Cos. plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to the top floor of the Plaza at Five Points building, 50 Central Ave, Sarasota, into space owned by an entity controlled by U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan.

►Trez Forman Capital Group completed a $13.85 million loan for the acquisition and development of 140 acres for the development of 417 single-family homes in Bradenton.

►Lindsey Toole, a wealth adviser with AWA Investment Advisors, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Early Leaning Coalition of Sarasota County.

►Gold Coast Eagle Distributing in Sarasota has purchased Ohio-based Clermont Distributing for $31 million.

►AmeriTrust Group’s retail agency subsidiary, Meadowbrook Insurance Agency, acquired Sarasota-based Carol P. Rummel Insurance Agency, dba Signature Insurance Agency.

Sarasota-based Fergeson Skipper was included in the 2019 “Best Law Firms” ranking by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers, achieving a first-tier ranking for the Sarasota metropolitan area in the categories of tax law and trusts and estates law.
